FORTUNE ACADEMY WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER 

Alan Bouwkamp approved to join Fortune Academy board 

INDIANAPOLIS, January 28,2021  Fortune Academy in Lawrence is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan A. Bouwkamp, to the Board of Trustees as of January of 2021. Mr. Bouwkamp has a long history of philanthropic work within Hamilton and Marion Counties. 

Prior to founding Becker Bouwkamp Walker, PC, Alan was a partner at Newton Becker Bouwkamp Pendoski, PC, Alan also served As Counsel with Newton Becker Reichert. He was formerly a partner in a medium-sized law firm in Carmel, Indiana where he practiced 13 years in Civil Litigation.  Alan has practiced law for 28 years, represented clients in more than half of the counties in Indiana, and has litigated at every level from small claims court to the Indiana Supreme Court.

Mr. Bouwkamp brings a great wealth of knowledge from his previous volunteer experience with nonprofits that focus on helping adults and children thrive in the Indianapolis area. “

The Fortune Academy Board of Trustees is composed of individuals from the medical, business, academic and entrepreneurial communities surrounding Indianapolis. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide counsel and guidance in the direction and operation of Fortune Academy as well as raise awareness of the services and programs provided to the surrounding communities.

Fortune Academy is a destination for the education of individuals with learning differences. We are committed to enhancing innovative opportunities for our 1st-12th grade students, teacher training, and the expansion of a comprehensive community resource center. According to research done by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, nearly 1 in 5 students are affected by dyslexia, 1 in 30 have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and over 40% of students with language based learning differences are improperly placed in special needs programs that aren't addressing their needs. We are home to these students. They deserve an education that makes sense to them, we are here to provide it.
