Important ESA Scholarship Information

  • What is INESA?

    • A school choice scholarship for K-12 special needs students and their sibling

  • Who qualifies?

    • Students who require special education services and have an IEP or SP (or be the sibling of an approved INESA student)

    • Students who are 5-22 years of age (by 10/1 of school year)

    • Students who are residents of Indiana

  • What documents are needed?

    • A completed copy of an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Service Plan (SP), or ESA Service Plan, which is your rejected IEP with ESA SP content in the body of the IEP.

    • Proof of residency (recent utility bill, photo i.d., etc.)

    • Birth certificate

  • What are the state testing requirements?

    • ESA students must participate in their grade’s state testing, including iRead, iLearn, and the SAT. Parents are required to pay for this testing.

    • Fortune Academy arranges and conducts this testing for students.

    • State tests do not affect Fortune students in any way, but Fortune will seek a Good Cause Exemption for students who do not pass iRead to ensure they are not retained as state law requires.
