The right school makes all the difference.

We are here

Fortune Academy is a destination for the education of individuals with learning differences. We are committed to enhancing innovative opportunities for our 1-12th grade students, teacher training, and the expansion of a comprehensive community resource center. We are a leader in research-based education. According to a study done by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, nearly 1 in 5 students are affected by dyslexia, 1 in 30 have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and over 40% of students with language based learning differences are improperly placed in special needs programs that aren't addressing their needs. We are home to these students. They deserve an education that makes sense to them, we are here to provide it.

We believe that students with language learning differences are capable of learning, making progress, and finding success through achievement. That their differences also give them strengths that need to be put to the service of society, family, and work. That our commitment to educating students with language learning differences makes success possible for these individuals. That we will be advocates for students with specific language learning differences/dyslexia. That we must be role models for other teachers and schools. That's why we're here.

A message from the head of school

As the Fortune Academy enters our 17th year, we remain one of 14 school programs in the country accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. Our ISACS and IDA accreditations ensure that Fortune Academy's mission remains firm: to serve children in grades 1-12 with diagnosed language-based learning differences to become competent and confident life-long learners. We are a leader in research-based education best practices for students who need a different approach to succeed.

Our students soar in our intentionally small class sizes. Providing a rich, multisensory, structured educational experience allows our students to gain confidence in their abilities to learn. Our highly trained faculty understands the unique learning styles that our students share. Our High School program provides three diploma options and many of our graduates are recipients of academic scholarships to universities across the country. Fortune Academy's athletic program demonstrates our continued efforts to provide opportunities for extra-curricular activities and our drama and art departments allow all students to shine!

I invite you to take a tour of our campus and see us in action. We are filled with pride at Fortune Academy and we love to share our community with others.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about our school!
