Give the gift of time
Fortune Academy relies on the time and talents of family and friends to support our mission. We invite you to become actively involved in our community. Volunteer opportunites vary from school operations, community-building, to fundraising projects. Everyone has something vital to offer and we welcome you to join us.
Please note: we must have a criminal background check completed before we can allow you to volunteer with Fortune Academy. You can download that form here. Once complete, please return it to our office.
Administrative Teacher Help
Teachers need assistance with making copies, preparing class materials, and compiling activities. If you enjoy running the copy machine, organizing, and making things neat this is the volunteer opportunity for you! A "to do" list will be provided by Amy Robinson at the front desk when you arrive. Depending on how much the teachers request you could be needed the entire morning or you may only be needed for an hour or two. Thank you in advance for helping our awesome teachers!
Assist Mr. Evans with installation of Lower School student art.
CELEBRATION EVENT HELP
Volunteers are needed the evening of our fundraiser. With more than 400 guests attending the festivities, much help is needed with check-in/registrtation, check-out, organizing and packaging silent auction items after the bidding has closed, and take-down. Help make this year's Celebration the very best yet!
Lower School Guided Readers
Volunteers work one-on-one with students as they read out loud.
Lower School Lunch & Recess Duty
Volunteers are needed during lunch and recess on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays to provide a much needed opportunity for our teachers to meet and plan for their grade levels. Volunteers will assist with lunch (sorting hot lunches, monitoring students, and directing clean-up) and monitoring students during recess. Please note a Fortune Academy staff member will also be present.
Ms. Purswell is in need of one parent volunteer to assist her during Origami Club, which includes students from grades 2 through 12.
